Requires only 2 control lines to drive 34 segments/LED's The M5450 is a monolithic IC designed to operate a 4- or 5-digit alphanumeric display that requires minimal interface with the display and serial data source. A single pin controls the LED display brightness by setting a reference current through a variable resistor connected to VDD or to a separate supply of 13.2V maximum. The device has 34 outputs that will sink 15mA current, and has a separate enable pin. The IC is designed to operate from 5V to 12V supplies, and is TTL compatible. |
