These LED's are very, very bright even brighter than my Megabrite which after looking at one for a few seconds (if you can) it's like a flash gun going off in your face. I have also tried one of these led's in my Energizer torch and it's even brighter plus the added bonus is that it will fit with no modification to the reflector bulb opening size ( with the 5mm I had to widen it to accomodate the larger led ). Also if you use one of these led's in a torch you will notice that the battery life is greatly extended because led's only draw 20mA current which when compared to a bulb is nothing. These are from the same manufacturer of my other led's including the superb RGB led's. This is a very high class led manufacturer and superb products. I'm not going to say anything about Maplin's or the price you might pay for these there, but there's no need to, they just haven't got a led like it. Photographs can't show just how painfully bright these led's are but like everybody else the compulsary picture is below.
