This is not a hobby component and has been built for the serious professional experimenter. It is designed for 15kv 120ma NST banks or larger variable current supplies. It is very durable, well treated, and very powerful. There are *NO* skips or errors, and the wire tension is constant. We use a custom laser guided winding machine to construct these fantastic coils. The ends are not finished, so you can construct any attachment end points that you want. The tube is cut perpindicular and flat so it stands up nicely by itself. This secondary coil featires 30+ inches of #20 200 degree MILSPEC magnet wire wound on 6.5 inch OD specially treated white PVC core. The UV layer was removed, the tube was lathed for best roundness, and treated with one outter layer of Q-dope before the wire was wound onto the core. There are about two inches on the top and bottom of this coil for adaptation to any grounding support, or topload discharge arrangement. It measures 61.1mH, and 62ohms. This coil has been finished with 10 coats polyprop, 10 coats acrylic, with 1 extra internal layer of Q-dope. This coil is going to have a hi-Q, and therefore a hi resonant voltage rise when it is properly tuned. The finish looks like a quarter inch of glass. |
