Subject: 960 volt ct transformer 500 ma high voltage
Here is a neat transformer with a very high voltage secondary. The primary can either be 115 or 230 volts ac and appears to be currently wired for 115v. The secondary is 960 volts AC center tapped with a 500 ma output. I think that this originally came out of a gigantic HP nixie tube frequecy counter that I once had. I havent tested this unit with voltage but I did ohm out the windings. The primary is .6 ohms and the seconday is 33 ohms . There is no measurable shorts between primary and secondary windings which is good. This unit is very heavy at 18 lbs and measures appx 5" x 5" x 6".
This would be a very useful transformer for many unique high voltage applications. WARNING. 960 volts is more than capable of killing anyone very quickly! This high voltage can easily overcome body and material resistances which might otherwise protect you from lower voltage units. This unit does not produce a powerless static voltage but rather has a one half amp output which at 960 volts is very dangerous!
This transformer is not a toy and should be used and applied ONLY by someone who is both qualified and fully educated as to the dangers of working with high tension and high voltage equiptment! This transformer should not be used in any application where it has the potential to come in contact with or connect to any thing which may be exposed to people unfamiliar with the dangers of this voltage. High voltage is no joke and is EXTREMELY dangerous!
I am selling this unit AS-IS and untested.
This transformer is sold AS-IS and I am in no way responsible for your use or misuse of it.
