Subject: A pair of smps 8080 power supplies
You are looking at a PAIR of Skynet 8080 Switch mode power supply (SMPS)
They will work with input voltages of 100 to 250 volts AC. Which gives you the following outputs:
-12 volts at 1 amp (see below about the -12v @ 6 Amps!)
Not sure what you could use this in, check out some of the reviews below. In the first link it explains how you can combine two of these units to give a -12 volt feed with 6 Amps output!
Decibel Dungeon "Now, all my Gainclones have sounded very good and I prided myself that this was in part due to the care I had taken building the power supplies. SMPS, I thought, were fine for computers but surely not suitable for audio. Well, was I in for a surprise! " Read more at http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/nuukspot/decdun/gainclonesmps.html#smpsreview
or the review for the Sonic Impact T-AMP, Autocostruire 2020, DiyParadise "Charlize", 41Hz AMP-3. http://www.tnt-audio.com/ampli/tripath_amps_e.html
This is a must for any DIY HI-FI Enthusiast. At a fraction of the cost you should be paying, comes complete with fitted heat sink.
I have also been told that the clean output of these units make them ideal for powering stand alone computer hard drives, DVD's and CD's etc... although I have not tried this myself.
Item measures 155mm x 85mm x 40mm approx
