Some units used a single vacuum tube amplifier/optical "chopper", some used a dual FET(single package) solid state amplifier and OP AMP circuitry in lieu of the older "chopper" circuitry.No choice as to which one you receive. AC Probe repaired or replaced. ( Unit may be furnished with either a HP Style **or** a Militarized AC (RF) Probe, depending on what we have in our inventory). DC Probe may be the stock HP, or the HP 412A Style , depending on what we have in inventory. Computer style AC cord connector installed (some units used a HP oval connector), AC cord set furnished as part of sale. Unit is functional and serviceable but not calibrated, and this includes the AC probe. These instruments are lab-grade, easy to use and repair. They are rugged, accurate and just as useful in the ham shack as the lab or the classroom . The RF (AC) Probe (useful to 700mhz), is perfect for low level signal tracing in oscillators, mixers, and transmitter RF circuitry of all kinds.
