The 9C incorporates a continuity tester attached to the test lead. This allows rapid convenient proof of the continuity of the test level circuit, showing that neither bulb nor fuses have blown. The MTL9c has an LED built into the lamp body, to show voltage presence even when the bulb filament has failed. Test lamps should always be proved safe both before and after use.
