The wavelength 1310nm, 1550nm and the absolute measurement is enabled, the test operation is so easy that we can measure desired parameters by using just four function buttons on front panel. How to use? It's not a big question because this device is very simple and easy to use and has several functions to fulfill requirements of cable operators. Select Wavelength: The optical power on 1310nm and 1550nm can be measured by the unit and has a button, which toggles, between two states. Absolute Measurements: To do any absolute measurement, the wavelength must be selected at first and then we press the dBm/W to enter the absolute measurement mode. Uncap the detector port and connect the test fiber, the absolute power measurement is displayed on the screen. The button toggles between watts and dBm. i) Power on the unit and select the wavelength at first. Enter the absolute measurement mode and make the level display in dBm by ii) Connect the optical source to DS3025, the display shows optical power output in dBm. iii) Press the REF button to store the output as the reference level. iv) Press the dB button, access the reference measurements, the display should be 0.0dB. Determining Fiber Loss:(Fiber loss can be tested by reference measurement). i) Connect the optical source by a test jumper. ii) Power on the DS3025 and make the display to dBm. iii) Turn on the optical source. iv) Set the reference level by pressing the button REF. v) Remove the test jumper. Connect the tested fiber between the source and DS3025. vi) Press dB button to enter the reference measurement. vii) The fiber loss is shown on the screen. Compensation offered by DS3025 Connect the standard device with the DS3025 in series Optical Source-Optical Attenuator-DS3025; let the power on the screen be A dBm. Now isolate the sequence and set up the assembly in same repeated manner and now the power on the screen measured is B dBm, now press the button REF the difference is compensation value. Now adjust the set up by adjusting the attenuator to measure the value as A dBm on the screen again and now press the button of wavelength to store the compensation value. Calibrated Wavelength: 1310nm, 1550nm. Input Range: +23dBm to -37dBm. Basic accuracy: 3%(0.13dB)@-10dBm, @22C 5C.
