Unbuilt HEATHKIT ID-4101 ID-101 Switch to Create Two Traces off a Single Trace Oscilloscope
In the 1940's, the first electronic kit produced by Heath was an oscilloscope. Until the late seventies, a dual trace oscillocope was a luxury.
This unit produced from the late sixties till the early eighties was efficient and easy to build. The model I am selling is the late ID 4101 model which was sthe subject of a facelift with the short lived Heath blue and white color scheme and black buttons.
This instrument is in a brand new unassembled kit form, and I have owned it since mail ordered from Heath in the eighties. So I have had been the sole custodian and all the parts have been accounted for. The manual, schematics and parts order forms are included. There is some discoloration of the manual cover and pages, but no damage and no check marks.
NOTE: Only the box shown in the foreground is being sold with this kit. The boxes or other kits in the background are shown to illustrate the past history of the electronic kit industry, and are not for sale
Many kits used by the Electronics schools such as NTS, Bell & Howell, Devry, Canadian Teccart, CREI, Sabtronics, CIE and even RCA were built by Heath.
The eico cortina, allied knight kit, scott, bogen, lafayette, EMC, Conar or NRI kit lines which were competitors, have also long been discontinued.
A Word About Heathkit Test Equipment
"Heathkit test equipment was the result of many years of experience in the test equipment field. Each new instrument, from its very first stages of development to final production, went through many exhaustive tests in Heath's modern engineering laboratory. These tests were conducted by engineers who not only knew the test equipment field, but also how to design the very finest performing instruments at the lowest possible cost. The dedication of these engineers and your assembly efforts make it possible to equip your electronic workshop with complete laboratory facilities at just a fraction of the cost of comparable ready-built equipment.
"The many design features incorporated in Heathkit equipment, along with the complete and informative instructions provided combine to produce accurate and dependable test equipment that is a pleasure to construct and professional in performance. Knowledge gained through actual assembly permits a degree of familiarity that allows far more intelligent application and provides the background for making minor adjustments if needed to keep your equipment in peak operating condition at all times."
